What is Coaching
Have you ever had a conversation that inspired you Perhaps you were listened to empathetically, but were not given any advice. Maybe you were given the space to design your own solution about how to move forward, and you did that successfully. That, in essence, is a coaching conversation.
Coaching is a professional relationship (with signed agreement that includes confidentiality and privacy terms) that enables the client to move forward in his or her life with greater clarity, focus, momentum and success by finding and creating their own answers. All of the answers are inside of the client and a coach enables each client to find his or her own "right" answers. Only a client knows what is best for himself/herself or his/her own child/family. A coach does not tell a client what to do. It is a process that the coach brings to the table to create awareness, clarity, motivation and confidence within a client.
Coaching is not therapy, psychology, counseling or consulting. Coaching focuses on the present and the future of the client's life. A coach focuses on the "who" of a person so that the client can discover what they need to do versus the coach giving expert advice like a consultant might.
